TechBA Program: Mexico-UT Austin Collaboration |
|
The knowledge-driven, global economy is placing an increasing emphasis on the development and commercialization of new technologies into the marketplace, and policymakers of all ilk are searching for appropriate mechanisms to facilitate this development and commercialization. One of these mechanisms is the creation of technology business accelerators for small and medium-sized firms. These accelerators provide technology-oriented firms with office space, services, business advice, and financial inputs.

The idea is that Mexican accelerators, located in high-tech cities such as San Jose, California, or Austin, Texas would help Mexican firms penetrate global markets in record time.7 Clearly, high-tech policies are a priority for the economic development of Mexico.
